| The Hulk in the Comics |
| In an experiment gone wrong, Bruce Banner is exposed to massive doses of gamma radiation. As a result, emotional stress (specifically, anger) triggers his transformation into the 7-foot tall, green-skinned, mostly nonverbal Hulk. Seen as a monster by most of the world, Bruce tries to cure his affliction and control the Hulk's rampages. Ironically, Bruce's love Betty is the daughter of the Hulk's biggest adversary, General "Thunderbolt" Ross. |
| Changes for the Screen |
| • |
Gamma radiation affects Bruce's experimental nanomeds, which trigger the genetic engineering done by his father, transforming him into the Hulk. |
| • |
Bruce's father exposes himself to gamma rays and becomes a villain like the comic's Absorbing Man. In the books, his dad died before he became the Hulk. |
| • |
As for the ending of the movie, well, we're still trying to figure it out. |
