| Blade in the Comics |
| While in labor, Blade's mother was bitten by a vampire and killed. Her son was born immune to the bite of any bloodsucker. To avenge her death, Blade hunts down the vampire responsible, Deacon Frost, and any other fanged one who gets in his way. With help at times from Hannibal King, a vampire detective, he pursues the ultimate vamp, Dracula. |
| Changes for the Screen |
| • |
In the movies, Blade is part vampire and boasts superhuman strength without being vulnerable to sunlight. |
| • |
The comic-book version of Deacon Frost is a distinguished white-haired man, rather than the young, stubble-faced Turk portrayed in the flick. |
| • |
Hannibal King will appear in "Blade: Trinity," but apparently his character will also veer from his comic roots. |
