AMC has released another trailer for the upcoming second half of "The Walking Dead" Season 4, and the clip once again stresses the point that Rick Grimes and his fellow walker apocalypse survivors are going to be wishing they were back in the relatively cushy confines of the prison.
A super-battered Rick and son Carl are off on their own, while Michonne goes solo against a circle of zombies. Tyreese raises his ax at an onslaught of walkers while assuring someone, "We'll find a safe place soon. We will." And Daryl tells someone — Beth, who was seen fleeing the prison with him in the midseason finale? — "I ain't afraid of nothin'!"
And speaking of Beth, daughter of the late Hershel, and the girl once so unable to deal with the new reality of her zombie-filled world that she tried to kill herself: She seems to have summoned up more of papa Hershel and sister Maggie's bravery and wisdom. In the preview, she tells someone, "You've gotta stay who you are, not who you were."
Also popping up briefly in the trailer: tween sisters Lizzie and Mika, and Maggie. (Not shown: Glenn, Sasha, Bob, baby Judith, and Carol.)
The first half of Season 4 unfolded with several episodes that focused on just portions of the cast, and last fall, star Andrew Lincoln (Rick) told Yahoo TV the final eight episodes of the season will also be told in a unique way.
"The back eight is more radical than ever before," he said. "It's almost a tale of two seasons. It really is that radical, the difference between the first eight and the back eight."
"And really, trust me, I think that three of the strongest episodes we've done this season are yet to come. Probably four. There are two episodes that I absolutely adore in the back eight, one of which I think is going to be the most controversial episode that we've probably ever been involved in, and that's saying something!"
