‘Spy Kids 4′ Tries To Entice Audiences With Ability To Smell A Dirty Diaper

We'll confess, we were sort of assuming Robert Rodriguez wasn't really going to make "Spy Kids 4-D: They Love These Movies A Lot More In Austin Than They Do Everywhere Else" in "Smell-O-Vision." Sure, Rodriguez said he was going to, but we assumed it was a promotional gimmick, a way to get people talking. Sort of like shooting a crazy Kobe Bryant commercial. ("Robert Rodriguez! What's up?!")

But nope, the movie opens tomorrow, and it's going to come with cards that you can sniff at certain points of the movie. One of those cards is a dirty diaper.

"Originally, we didn't have any really rancid smells, but kids wanted something really stinky in there," Rodriguez said about one of the smells, a dirty baby diaper. "It really doesn't smell that bad. No one's going to get sick in the theater."

Now, you should know that we have no sense of smell, so whatever the heck you people are doing with your noses is Greek to us. But it sure is something to live during a time in which intelligent beings with opposable thumbs will pay $15 to have the opportunity to smell human excrement. All we can hope for is to leave this planet a little better than we found it.
