A Ricky Gervais Golden Globes Live-Blog Would Be Quite Entertaining

We remain completely baffled about why everyone was so upset about the jokes Ricky Gervais made at last year's Golden Globes. Remember, the two reasons people watch awards shows are to see the dresses and to see these fancy self-important people made fun of a little bit. It is an awards show. Offending the dressed-up people is literally the only interesting that can happen. (All right, maybe one of them could fall down.)

As much as we might like him to -- and as much as he'd like to pretend to -- Gervais won't be hosting the Golden Globes this year. But on his blog, Gervais has a better idea: A live podcast of this year's awards, and he'll bring along some friends.

A live 3 hour podcast during The Golden Globes. Me and a few chums (like Louis CK, Chris Rock, Karl Pilkington, John Stewart, Larry David popping in and out) doing our own alternative commentary. People at home can have the telly on with the sound down listening to us online say things that no broadcaster could get away with.

Well, if you're gonna get Jon Stewart to come, you probably better spell his name right. Also, this would be awesome. Also, Ricky, your site desperately needs an RSS feed. Also, please do this.
