The following movies were released in January 2010: "Legion," "The Tooth Fairy," "Extraordinary Measures," "The Book Of Eli," "The Spy Next Door," "Leap Year," "Youth In Revolt" and "Daybreakers." You are forgiven if you do not remember any of those movies. It was a long time ago. The movie release calendar is long, and it's easy to forget any particular month. We want to change that. At the beginning of every month, we're going to take a look back at the month just passed, at the movies people saw, the movies we liked, the time that was. Unfortunately, we are starting this feature with the worst of all possible months: January. Let's see how it works. To the wonkishness!

What We Learned This Month

Leitch: January is a great month for rewatching Oscar movies. And for football. Also: Grierson will see ANYTHING.
Grierson: At the beginning of the month, The Social Network was a lock for Best Picture. Now, no one even remembers it.

Man, we hope February is better. See you then.
