February: Your Movie Month In Review

If February happened any other month during the year, we would lament the sorry state of The Cinematic Experience. There ain't much good out there, as anyone who has tried to talk themselves into liking "Cedar Rapids" can attest. But compared to January: February is freaking Cannes, every day. It gets better. It has to. Anyway, it's time to do our monthly look back (here's January) at the films of the past month, the ones we saw, the ones we loved, the ones we missed. Welcome to the wonkishness.

What We Learned This Month

Leitch: That we live in a universe in which Dan Patrick can moderate a hula contest between Jennifer Aniston and Nicole Kidman, and the number of people who will pay to see it reaches the eight digits.
Grierson: People have a short memory for how incredibly smarmy Billy Crystal became over the years as host of the Oscars. You may not have liked James Franco and Anne Hathaway, but, really, we can do better than him.

We have such hope for March! See you then.
