Barbra Streisand Shows Up in “Indiana Jones” Footage, Of Course

We spent our afternoon at two movies. The first was Lars Von Trier's "Melancholia," which features a runaway orbiting planet threatening the end of the world. The second was Steven Soderbergh's "Contagion," which features a bat-pig virus threatening the end of the world. These things come in threes.

So, some old footage has surfaced of a prank featuring Barbra Streisand in a dominatrix suit whipping Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, in costume, before she is interrupted by Carrie Fisher and "Empire Strikes Back" director, Irvin Kershner. (It's a play on the "Temple of Doom" scene where Indiana is tormented and whipped by captors who use Indy's own infamous whip.) Watch this now, thanks to the demented folks at JoBlo, who have brought this mercilessly to the masses. Sweet heavens.

Slashfilm tried to transcribe the "dialogue" of the grainy video. Here's their try (which looks good to us):

Barbra Streisand: "This is for Guns of Navarone!"
Barbra Streisand: "Guns of Navarone? No…"
Harrison Ford: "For Force Ten…"
Barbra Streisand: "For Force Ten!" (Ed. note: She mean FORCE 10 FROM NAVARONE not GUNS OF THE NAVARONE.)
Barbra Streisand: "This is for Hanover Street!"

Carrie Fisher: "Can I change lines?"
Irvin Kershner: "Listen."
Carrie Fisher: "Yeah?"
Irvin Kershner: "I want you to believe what you are doing!"
Carrie Fisher: "Okay."
Irvin Kershner: "You call that shouting? You call that pain?"
Harrison Ford: "Steven…"
Irvin Kershner: "Steve, how can you let him do this? Come on!"
Harrison Ford: "Okay ready… ready."
Carrie Fisher: "I'll be good, I promise."
Irvin Kershner: "Do it again!"
Harrison Ford: "Really hit me! Really hit me this time!"
Barbra Streisand: "Okay."
Harrison Ford: "Don't do it with such… really hit me!"
Barbra Streisand: "I feel like a fa--ot…"

Forgive Barbra that last bit: It was June 1983. We're going to go wipe the rest of our brain off the various walls of our office.
