Tracy Morgan Hospitalized at Sundance Following Collapse

US MagazineSerious news for funnyman Tracy Morgan.

The 30 Rock star, 43, is currently being hospitalized at Park City Medical Center in Park City, Utah after collapsing at a Sundance Film Festival event Sunday night.

UPDATE: Morgan's rep tells Us Weekly: "From a combination of exhaustion and altitude Tracy is seeking medical attention.  He is with his fiancé [Megan Wallover] and is grateful to the Park City Medical Center for their care.  Any reports of Tracy consuming alcohol are 100 percent false."

Promoting his film Predisposed, Morgan was an honoree at the Creative Coalition Spotlight Awards and gave a speech -- and some subsequent reports claimed he was intoxicated.  After being escorted outside following his speech, Morgan collapsed, and an ambulance rushed onto the scene, according to ABC News.

Exhaustion and altitude sickness? Why don't they just come right out and say it... He was in diabetic shock! There's NO shame in admitting that his problem was the result of a REAL health problem! From one who's mother is diabetic, I wish Tracy a speedy recovery, and keep up on your blood sugar levels, man! Don't scare us like that! DANG!

quick question im normally hypo glycemic and know when my sugar is low. last two mornings ive woken up with what I thought was vertigo. But i noticed after I ate I was ok with about half hour. Ive never had this happen before. Not my normal symptons. Any ideas?

It is probably something called the SYMOGI EFFECT. You sleep and a low BS in the morning causes your feelings of dizziness, but your body delivered antibodies just at that time, and you become more desensitized to insulin on your waking period.

        Comes from experience with this...

Best solution, beleive it or not, is ICE CREAM before bedtime or a granola bar. Long carbohydrates, but check your BS, because you should test at least four times a day. Pump (medtronics) is the absolute best.

Not a good idea to be searching for medical advice on a forum such as this!!

No drugs or alcohol in his system?!? This is going to completely ruin Tracy Jordan's image!

When your sugar drops really low your brain starts shutting down. Anything below 40 and you are about to slip into a coma. This is not unlike the anchorwoman who had a stroke on the air. People like to jump pt the negative and say he was drunk. And by the way, drunk is fun so what is wrong with that anyway? If he is diabetic, odds are bad that he was drunk. He probably does not drink.

BTW.. The reporter who was saying nonsense did not have a stroke. She had a migraine aura. Looks like a stroke but it's not. Good post.

I'm not a fan of Tracy but I wish him a speedy recovery. And for the imbeciles that want to trash the man while not knowing exactly what happened....why don't you save your strength for other things you may be able to handle.....like cleaning your side of the room in your moms basement.

As an EMT who deals with diabetic patients fairly frequently, I can say that the symptoms of a diabetic episode often mimic drunkenness. Even the smell their breath carries is reminiscent of alcohol, and anyone unfamiliar with it would likely assume the person was drunk. Good thing Mr. Morgan got help - a little glucose and rest will have him 100% in no time, assuming he's usually faithful about maintaining his diabetes.

Too much of Spike Lee has that effect on people. NOT GOOD.

My mom is diabetic, it doesn't help when she goes to places of high altitude, so she lives near the beach. Plus lack of a healthy diet and lack of rest are all factors that could have led to this incident. Regardless of what he is or what he believes in, you don't wish someone to die!
