The star, who won for best supporting actress at the Independent Spirit Awards after many say she was snubbed in the Oscar nominations, has good reason to skip the shoes. She was diagnosed with scoliosis when she was 15. When asked about her decision to go shoeless, Shailene had fun with the question and teased that she wanted to pitch a Hawaiian movie and hoped the barefoot look would be a great segue.
