absence of three years from the silver screen, Steven Spielberg is set to release
not one but two movies in 2011.
is "The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn," which he's
directing in collaboration with Peter Jackson. Based on the popular comic
series by Belgian graphic artist Herge, "Tintin" looks like it'll be the
sort of computer-effects-heavy, crowd-pleasing spectacle that Spielberg first became
movie, "War Horse," adapted from the popular 1982 book by Michael
Morpurgo, appears to be in the vein of serious, critically friendly dramas more
recently associated with Spielberg. Think "Saving Private Ryan" or "Munich." This one
centers on a young man whose horse (named Joey) is shipped off to the trenches
of World War I. The book is told from the point of view of the horse, and the
author reportedly spent five years trying to adapt his novel before giving up.
