Have you ever wanted to see Oscar-winning A-list thespians Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Kline and Michael Douglas letting their proverbial hair down and getting wild and crazy and drunk? Together? In a movie? Well in now is your chance because Yahoo! Movies has the exclusive debut of the trailer for "Last Vegas," a movie that revolves around four lifelong friends, all of whom are well into their mid-to-late 60s and early 70s, who throw caution to the wind to go on a four-day bender/bachelor party in Las Vegas.
If it were any other movie with any other cast, folks might not make a big deal out of it and complain of a "Hangover" knock-off or some other write-off, but because the four featured friends in "Last Vegas" are played by the likes of De Niro, 69, Freeman, 75, Kline, 65, and Douglas,68, let's just say that they all have our attention.
In addition to the delight involved in picturing these four actors behaving like reckless youngsters in a sinful town like Vegas, this trailer gives us a great taste of what it will like to see them getting up to no good, all for the sake of good comedy.
Of course there are plenty of "old guy" quips that poke fun at taking drugs, the kind for maintaining cholesterol and not understanding the concept of mixing Red Bull and vodka, i.e. "Boy these red bull vodkas are strange, I feel like I'm getting drunk and electrocuted at the same time," but the guys look like they're having such a good time throughout, we'd be ready to go drinking with them whenever.
It's enough of a surprise and fish-out-of-water scenario that we can almost forget that these guys have five acting Oscars among them, all for memorable and mostly dramatic work. De Niro has two, one Best Actor trophy for "Raging Bull" in 1981, and a Best Supporting Actor statue for his role in "The Godfather: Part II"; Freeman won Best Supporting Actor for "Million Dollar Baby" in 2005; Douglas was named Best Actor in 1988 for "Wall Street," and Kline took home the Best Supporting Actor Oscar in 1989 for "A Fish Called Wanda."
Something tells us they won't be adding any Oscars to their respective collections for "Last Vegas," which might be the reason this fearsome foursome signed up for the film in the first place.
