What’s better than finally getting a look at the first trailer of “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug”? Watching Hobbit stars watch Hobbit fans react to seeing the trailer for the first time!
After initially posting a video on his Facebook page of fans reacting to the highly anticipated trailer, Jackson then posted an extra trailer-themed treat, which he dubbed a "sequel to that fan video."
The clip features "Desolation of Smaug" stars Evangeline Lily, Orlando Bloom, and Lee Pace gathered around a monitor watching the fan reaction video. They appear to be taking a break from shooting pickup scenes, as they're dressed in full Elvin costumes, ears and all.
“That’s an Elvin stare if ever I’ve seen one,” Bloom says to his costars while watching two young women staring intensely at their own computer screens.
"Yeah I am bada--!" Lily added when the the fans got excited about seeing her as the elf warrior Tauriel.
What we have here is a very enjoyable and very meta movie moment. We can now be on the lookout for another reaction video from the fans featured, in which they react to the “Hobbit” stars reacting to their reaction.
Say that quickly, five times in a row.
“The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” hits theaters on December 13.
