Yes, it's true, all you former little freshman piggies: Cult high school party flick "Dazed and Confused" is nearly 20 years young.

Many of the cast members celebrated the occasion in Austin, Texas, this week during a special screening of the now classic 1993 film about teens carousing about town, drinking beer, making out, and listening to those sweet sweet '70s jams.

But some key players were missing, one of whom just brought home an Oscar.

Ben Affleck, Matthew McConaughey, Milla Jovovich, Jason London, and Parker Posey were not there for the roll call -- nor was Adam Goldberg.

Affleck, who played a paddle-wielding jock, was completely MIA. However, most of the others who couldn't attend relayed videotaped messages that were played at the event.

As it turns out, Vince Vaughn almost got Affleck's part, "Dazed" writer-director Richard Linklater revealed. (I wonder if Vaughn would have shown?)

London, who was the film's leading man, was also conspicuously missing. Some are speculating his recent bar fight in Arizona kept him preoccupied.

McConaughey arguably gained the most mileage out of his role as the lecherous older dude David Wooderson who famously spouted, "That's what I love about these high school girls, man. I get older, they stay the same age."

In his video message, the 43-year-old actor thanked Linklater -- whom he worked with again in 2011's "Bernie" -- for letting the phrase "Alright, alright, alright" be one of his first lines in the film. (Though Esquire astutely pointed out that his actual first lines were, "Say, man, you got a joint? It'd be a lot cooler if you did.")

Parker Posey, who played the mean head cheerleader, revealed in her video message that men come up to her and ask her to yell "air raid" to their wives.

The "Dazed" crew who made it to the event include Joey Lauren Adams (popular girl Simone), Anthony Rapp (the blond, nerdy Tony), Michelle Burke Thomas (Jodi Kramer, the cool older sister), Marissa Ribisi (Cynthia, girl friend of the nerds), Wiley Wiggins (Mitch Kramer, the young'un) and Nicky Katt (trouble-making jock Clint).

The official 20th anniversary of the theatrical release of "Dazed and Confused" is coming up on September 24th -- which presumably gives Affleck enough time to do a shout out.
