Just days after photos of Foxx in his Electro costume from the set of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" surfaced, news that the 45-year-old actor is in negotiations to play Daddy Warbucks in an "Annie" remake has also emerged. He is also starring in "White House Down," opening on June 28.
"Annie," produced by Will Smith and Jay-Z, is set to star youngest-ever best actress Oscar nominee Quvenzhane Wallis as the little orphan Annie.
Will Gluck ("Friends with Benefits," "Easy A") is directing, and has just revised the script, written by Emma Thompson and Aline Brosh McKenna, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
If Foxx is anything like the filthy rich character he is gearing up to play, he should emerge from "Annie" negotiations with all but a guarantee that his life will continue to be the opposite of hard knocks.
