Jamie Foxx enjoys being bad ― well, at least when he's in character as the villainous Electro in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2."

Fanboys (and girls!) were given their first glimpse of the 45-year-old actor in costume as the baddie last month ― and what a look! From the metallic blue makeup highlighting bulging veins to those light-colored contact lenses, the creep factor is high, which is just the way Foxx likes it.

"Oh, man ― it's so much fun," the actor told Yahoo! Movies from the Brooklyn, New York, set of the short film he's directing for Ron Howard and Canon's Project Imaginat10n. "The costume is great. They were very creative with it."

Electro is a role that takes lot of prep each day as far as logging time in the makeup chair, but that doesn't bother Foxx.

"It's a couple hours ― a couple hours of work, but it's really so much fun," said Foxx, who requires much more time in the chair for Electro than his counterpart Max Dillon (though the wig looks tricky). "It's part of a remarkable legacy: Spider-Man. I mean, when you're growing up as a kid, you know, that's everything. So to be able to be in that is just amazing."

How does he pass the time in the makeup chair: reading? Listening to music? Singing? None of the above actually.

"I just chill," said Foxx, who added that he had no input on the costume, which, as we reported, differs significantly from the original comic book look. "No, they all do that."

Next up will be taking Electro to the public this summer.

"Now I'm just waiting to get to Comic-Con and see how people respond to it," Foxx said, referring to the big event in San Diego from July 17-21. "[Director] Marc Webb is a genius and Amy Pascal and everybody at Sony have just be so gracious to allow me to have this opportunity. So it's cool."

You'll have to wait until May 2014 to see "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," but Foxx's short film, which is inspired by user-submitted photographs, will debut this fall at the Project Imaginat10n Film Festival. And beginning in June, aspiring filmmakers will be able to submit their own creations and five will be selected to be screened alongside the celebrity directed ones. Find out more here.
