COMIC-CON 2011: Meet Victoria Schmidt, Super Fan

Publicists are flooding into San Diego, street vendors are selling T-shirts with obscure comic book references, and black-clad teens are lining up to catch a glimpse of their favorite "Twilight" star. Yes, it's Comic-Con season. But apart from the panels and the parties, what really symbolizes Comic-Con is the costumes. What would that annual gala to geekdom be without legions of fans decked out as the Joker, Lara Croft, or the odd Jedi?

Meet Victoria Schmidt, who takes the whole dressing-up thing to another level. By her own admission, she spends the entire year and most of her monthly paycheck on getting a guise just right, be it Princess Leia or Kate from "Lost." Click on the video below and see someone who takes Comic-Con very, very seriously.

Everyone from Yahoo! Movies is going to be in San Diego this weekend. Tell us what to check out at Comic-Con.

wow she is my hero!!!!!!!!!!!! i only wish i could do that!!!!!
      • A Yahoo! User 10 months ago
She needs to get a life. I swear you people don't know the meaning of the word 'hero' because she isn't one....well except to another loser.
      • A Yahoo! User 10 months ago
Well she could be a pretend hero if she is wearing a super hero costume. Works for me.

She has a life and at least she seems happy doing it unlike you, Angelina who only gets their kicks from being an unimaginative moron who looks down on others.

Good thing she's pretty hot, or it would just be sad.

Man how awesome, she's got amazing talent 4 sure. :D Hmm I think she would be an awesome Cosplayer too!
      • A Yahoo! User 10 months ago
How is this not already cosplay?
      • A Yahoo! User 9 months ago
Cosplay is dressing up to resemble a character/person....therefore what she's doing IS cosplay. I'm guessing you're just thinking of the anime cosplays, which she would probably be good at as well.

Someone needs to get her out of her office job and into Hollywood. She has true talent.
      • A Yahoo! User 10 months ago
more likely she'll end up rejected from Hollywood b/c she has no "real-world" talent even though she's done more than 90% of all interns combined
      • A Yahoo! User 10 months ago
umm... I would say it's not really talent. It's devotion.
      • A Yahoo! User 10 months ago
it is a talent if you could make costumes like that, it involves artistic skills, shes very crafty and creative. And hollywood would be lucky to have her as a costume designer.
    • A Yahoo! User  •  10 months ago
Has she ever seriously considered being a costume designer?
    • A Yahoo! User  •  10 months ago
Somebody hire her as a costume designer. NOW!

    • A Yahoo! User  •  10 months ago

    • A Yahoo! User  •  10 months ago
I think this is soooo cool. I love her passion and her dedication to detail.
    • A Yahoo! User  •  10 months ago
I can't help but feel that if this was a guy, people would be calling him a loser.

I WANNA GOOO! I have DragonCon, but sadly I'm stuck with Padme cosplay since I'm pregnant this year. So no Trish, Zatanna, Circe, Silent Hill nurse, or She-ra. *pout* Conventions are SO much fun.
