And it looks like Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence's recent globe trotting has been getting in the way of good 'ol "X-Men" progress.

An admittedly "jet-lagged" but always classy Patrick Stewart made a recent appearance at Comicpalooza and let the cat out of the bag: Filming "X-Men" this time around has been a scheduling nightmare with its huge megastar cast that includes returning players from both the original "X-Men" trilogy and the 2011 prequel/reboot, "X-Men: First Class."

Forget all those stories about production problems, swollen budgets, and massive reshoots. Now that the movie is completed and ready to open, Brad Pitt was busy turning on his movie star charm (with Angelina Jolie at his side, in her first public appearance since her double mastectomy) as he arrived for the world premiere of "World War Z" in London today. As he greeted the media and throngs of fans, Pitt (who also produced) was full of confidence and excitement about the movie.

"It's been a long time coming," Pitt said, sporting a stylish black suit with an open collared shirt, aviator shades, and blonde hair almost to his shoulders. "We got this thing together – it's biiiiiig, it's good summer fun, so we're really happy to unleash it here."

When asked what prompted him to make a film out of Max Brooks' novel of a global zombie takeover, Pitt's immediate response was a good humored, "You got me, man! I don't know, but it works!" After a beat, he took a more serious tone as he talked about the material.

"It was kind of a genre-bender in the sense it approached it like a world pandemic and how would you survive if we woke up this morning and everything we concerned our day with was rendered useless," Pitt said. "And how we protect our families, and what happens then? And what countries are actually in better condition to survive it and what aren't. We started from there – it's a really interesting book."

Pitt also talked about the grand scale of the movie – "We had one thousand extras in one shot!" he said, half incredulous and half bragging – and revealed that Glasgow in Scotland stood in for Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the movie. "That's right, Glasgow is Philly," Pitt said. "It looks great! It looks the business."

Much of "World War Z" was shot in the United Kingdom, and while speaking to the press in London, Pitt had nothing but praise for the experience. "[The UK has] got a real great international vibe,

When "WarGames" premiered 30 years ago this summer (June 3, 1983, to be exact) the only "smart" phones were in fancy cars, a lightweight laptop weighed in at a hefty 4 pounds, and Al Gore hadn't yet invented the Internet — at least not the consumer version.

The sequel to "Blade Runner" is apparently still something that Hollywood is seriously considering, as screenwriter Michael Green is currently in talks to do a rewrite job on the script by Hampton Fancher, according to Variety.

Fancher wrote the screenplay to the original "Blade Runner," the 1982 adaptation of Philip K. Dick's short story, "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" It made for the first big-screen treatment of Dick's work, which paved the way for "Total Recall" (1990), "Minority Report" (2002), "Paycheck" (2003), "A Scanner Darkly" (2006) and "The Adjustment Bureau" (2011) – and is considered by many to be one of the best science fiction films of

Sam Mendes is either very good at bluffing, or he's the sort of man who sometimes changes his mind. Despite previous denials, it looks like Mendes, the man behind the mega-hit "Skyfall," will be directing the next two James Bond thrillers after all.

Roger Friedman of the entertainment news site Showbiz 411 is reporting that Mendes is "as confirmed as it can be" as director of what is currently called “Bond 24,” and he’s all but certain to be behind the cameras for Bond 25 as well. It’s reported that John Logan, who co-wrote “Skyfall,” is already at work on the screenplays for both movies. Friedman did not name his sources in his story.
