After 25 years of narrowly averting bullets, broken glass, falling roofs, flying cars, and idiotic authority figures, John McClane is lucky to be alive. And that makes all of us action fans lucky too.

Now Bruce Willis brings McClane back for the fifth installment of the venerable “Die Hard” franchise with “A Good Day to Die Hard,” perhaps the most concussive film of the bunch. To honor one of the most determined, identifiable, and sarcastic action heroes ever to leap off the big screen, we present these Five Film Facts about the franchise, one for each film. Solo is back and J.J. Abrams has got him... or at least that's the story that's circulating this morning.

Umberto Gonzalez (aka "El Mayimbe") of Latino Review reported during an interview with Fox News Latino that Harrison Ford has signed on to play Han Solo in Abrams' upcoming project, "Star Wars: Episode VII."

Well, we're glad to see that someone likes the new Lindsay Lohan movie ... or at least sees its potential as a long-running, endlessly quotable cult classic.

"The Canyons," director Paul Schrader's DIY film that's been the subject of much ridicule since the day it was conceived, has managed to score a distribution deal with IFC Films -- which means the day is soon coming when we can all see this supposed cinematic train wreck for ourselves.

River Phoenix was one of the most promising actors of his generation, growing from challenging juvenile roles in "Stand By Me" to acclaimed adult performances in "My Own Private Idaho" and "Running on Empty," when he died unexpectedly in 1993 at the age of 23. Now the film he was working on at the time of his death is finally seeing the light of day.

The 45-year-old actress is a television star who has truly come into her own, having earned her first Golden Globe nomination this year.

But there was a time when Britton had film fame on the brain. She gained notoriety in 1995 with her role as Molly McMullen in Edward Burns' indie darling "The Brothers McMullen," and attempted to leverage that into more, according to a profile the New York Times has written on Britton.

Burns was being courted for the lead in Cameron Crowe's "Jerry Maguire," which would come out the following year. The rising actor-director turned it down because, at the time, he only wanted to star in his own films, leaving the door wide open for Tom Cruise.
