"Vampire Academy" is really all about breaking the rules. And not just the whole, "thou shalt not suck your best friend's blood" rule, either.

In this exclusive clip from the film, we get our first good look at Christian Ozera (Dom Sherwood) and his ability to play with fire.

After one bully declares Zoey Deutch's Rose (the story's heroine, a half-human, half-vampire sworn to protect her royal vampire BFF, Lucy Fry's Lissa) a "blood whore," Christian immediately comes to her defense and sets the guy's school uniform aflame. When the teacher sends him to the head mistress's office, he rolls his eyes and sets the note in the prof's hand on fire for extra measure.

In case you hadn't already figured it out, Christian is the "bad boy" of the "Vampire Academy" movie, based on the bestselling book series by Richelle Mead. And, for the record, it's not Rose Christian's crushing on – it's Lissa – but you know what they say: The fastest way to a royal vampire's heart is by being nice to her hyper-loyal BFF. (They say that, right?)

The trouble starts when that nasty Mia ("Blue Bloods" star Sami Gayle") passes a note to a pal with the clear intent of getting caught so the teacher would read it aloud. "I'll bet that drama queen – I mean drama princess – killed that fox herself to distract the school from her real secret."

"You're being used as a tool to broadcast me as vile propaganda," drama princess Lissa responds, to which the teach declares:

Which leads to Christian's death stare, a student in flames, and, finally, justice.
