Every year, the Hollywood Foreign Press selects a young woman with one or more parents in the entertainment industry to present the trophies at the Golden Globes ceremony. This year, the choice for Miss Golden Globe has the distinction of being the daughter of two Golden Globe winners: Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick. She's 21-year-old Sosie Bacon.

Sosie has been acting since the age of 10, when she made her screen debut in the 2005 film "Loverboy," where she played the younger version of the same character played by her mother (her father also directed the movie). Sosie went on to have a recurring role on her mother's TV series, "The Closer." Even her name was inspired by her parents' Hollywood career. Sedgwick gave birth shortly after filming the TV movie "Miss Rose White," and she named the baby after an art director on the film.

Sosie Bacon said at the ceremony Thursday evening where she was named Miss Golden Globe, "I'm humbled that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association bestowed this honor on to me ... I'm also grateful to my parents whose talent inspires me everyday but first and foremost who have been endlessly supportive and loving throughout my journey. I'm so proud to honor them as Miss Golden Globe."

Last year's Miss Golden Globes was Francesca Eastwood, daughter of Clint. Francesca's half-sister, Kathryn, also served as Miss Golden Globes in 2005 (the same year their dad won Best Director for "Million Dollar Baby"). Other notable honorees of the past decade include Bruce Willis and Demi Moore's daughter Rumer (2008), Jack Nicholson's daughter Lorraine (2007), and Kevin Costner's daughter Lily (2004).

The role of Miss Golden Globe can even lead to a Hollywood career. Anne Archer, Laura Dern, and Joely Fisher were all selected for their famous folks, but went on to successful acting careers of their own. And 2006's selection, Dakota Johnson, was recently cast as the lead in the high-profile screen adaptation of "50 Shades of Grey" -- and Dakota's mother, Melanie Griffith, was herself a Miss Golden Globe in 1975.

And there have been Mister Golden Globes from time to time as well, including Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sam Michael Fox (who inspired Tina Fey to joke last year, "You know what, Taylor Swift? Stay away from Michael J. Fox's son!").

The 2014 Golden Globe Awards, hosted again by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, will air on January 12.
