Michael Bay and 7 Other Celebs Who Have Stormed Off Stage
By now we know public relations isn't necessarly Michael Bay's forte. So when the "Transformers" director walked off a CES stage in Las Vegas on Monday after a teleprompter failed to work in his favor, he was only staying true to form.
Here are seven other celebrities who have recoiled under the bright stage lights and exited as eager onlookers bore witness:
1. Justin Bieber
Bieber bid his adieu after he was hit by a bottle. Can you blame him?
2. Selena Gomez
Apparently Gomez was so displeased with her performance last month at Jingle Ball 2013 that she walked off before her cue. Her microphone wasn't working correctly and she was overheard cursing up a storm.
3. Kanye West
West decided to ditch his legion of fans gathered at a Tampa, Florida, show last month. His alleged reason: maddening technical difficulties during the performance.
4. Elton John
Sir Elton left the stage when his keyboard peddles kept sticking at a show in Washington D.C. A consummate professional, he came back on and, according to one You Tuber, "brought the house down."
5. Dave Chappelle
All it took was a heckler last August to get Chappelle riled up enough to walk off. You'd think a stand up comic could brace for such a thing!
6. 'Top Model' Contestant
Louise Watts, a contestant on "Top Model," got huffy with critical judges when she headed for the door.
7. Paris Hilton
Hilton ditched a major network interview with ABC when she didn't like where questioning was leading. Not quite off stage, but off camera.
Other stars who have famously exited stage left (or stage right) include The Bee Gees, Morrissey, and Aubrey O'Day (from "Celebrity Apprentice").
What do you think of Bay and the rest of these ditchers?
