    Box Office Knock Out

10/28/2011 — ‘In Time’ Star Olivia Wilde Plays Timberlake’s Mom

Photo by Getty ImagesAndrew Niccol's new movie "In Time" -- starring Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried -- portrays a world where, thanks to genetic engineering, everyone stops aging at 25. Thereafter, they live as long as the LCD clock on their forearms tells them they will live. Want a cup of coffee? That's three minutes off your life. The rich live long, the poor die young. Time, in this flick, literally, is money.

Of course, having a young cast playing characters as old as 100 does create some weird dynamics. Olivia Wilde, for instance, plays Timberlake's 50-year-old mother but is, in real life, three years younger than JT. This isn't the first movie to mess with Mother Nature. What other movies out there have some unlikely actors playing parent and child? And find out where we predict "In Time" will land on the charts in this week's Box Office Knock Out.

I like the concept for In Time but the movie itself sucked. I've seen other films where Timberlake was a decent actor but not this time. The directing was horrible and there were shots that weren't framed correctly which is inexcusable in a film with a multi-million dollar budget. Footloose? No thanks. I've heard Real Steel is better than the trailers made it look.

Paranormal 3 will probably be this weeks winner. Unless teens flock to see Justin before word of mouth gets out about just how bad the movie actually is.

Justine Timberlake should remain a singer where his talents are valid. His acting is not. The movie, 'In Time,' was a sad affair of faulty direction and misuse of talent.

"Rum Diary" is a smaller production. So will probably be showing on far less screens then the others in the top five. That's why its not no the list.

Amanda Seyfried --- is the perfect robot actress.... If they remake "Bladerunner" she can do Darryl Hannah's part just as rigidly....

Olivia Wilde has about 3 minutes of screen time. Big deal. She has an odd looking face anyway. Why do people think she is beautiful?

With all due respect, you are nuts (I can say whatever I like if I lead it off with ... with all due respect. My friend Ricky B told me that). The plot was great and the acting was great too. I see alot of cheesy sci-fi B movies, this wasn't one of them. This had better acting than the "Matrix" did. While that isn't saying much.... it is saying something.

with all due respect CoolHand, FU!, and your idiot friend Ricky Bobby! who the hell is dumb enough to criticize a movie who he/she hasnt watched! either you have a stake in this film or you have serious problems by comparing it even to the matrix. Even been compared in the box office track record this movie will not even get close to the matrix.

In Time was not a great movie, just a watchable action movie with really no character development. It was a cut and paste movie filled with stereotypical dialogue and did not deal intelligently with the subject matter.
