  • Denzel Washington’s Golden Globes family night

    Denzel Washington brought a very special date to the Golden Globes Sunday night, but she was definitely unexpected. Before beginning their interview on Sunday night's red carpet, Denzel advised E!'s Ryan Seacrest, "It's not my wife Pauletta, it's my daughter."

    Washington's daughter, Olivia -- who has rarely been seen and photographed at events -- accompanied him to the ceremony. She filled in for his normal date -- his wife of 29 years, Pauletta. 22-year-old Olivia is one of Denzel and Pauletta's four children, John David, Katia, and her twin brother, Malcolm.

    Denzel's introduction saved Seacrest from an awkward mistake, as mystery dates have perplexed interviewers in the past. The worst mishap was probably the moment Joan Rivers confused Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins' then-wife, Jennifer Lynton, for his mother on an awards red carpet in the past.

  • Julianne Hough’s odd Golden Globes fashion choices

    A closer look at her beetle earring.A closer look at her beetle earring.Julianne Hough went wild with her Golden Globes look, collaborating with jewelry designer Daniela Villegas and sporting creepy accessories containing actual insects. Hough explained that her earrings contained "an actual scarab beetle" and that her ear cuff was fashioned from a stick insect.

    Though a peculiar pick in a red carpet world where most stars opt for diamonds, Hough gets points for originality. The unusual gold and insect jewelry was paired with Hough's white Monique Lhuillier gown, which the actress picked after claiming it "screams amazing."

    Though the fashion reviews are not in yet, this would not be Hough's first odd red carpet choice. Julianne received less than rave reviews for her 2012 Emmys look.   • Highlights of 2012 Governors Awards

    On Saturday night, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences held the 2012 Governors Awards in Hollywood. The fourth annual ceremony honored Hal Needham, D.A. Pennebaker, George Stevens Jr. and Jeffrey Katzenberg during a cocktail and dinner celebration in Hollywood. Here's a look at the top five moments of the evening:

    1. The best-dressed moment belonged to Kristen Stewart, who stunned on the red carpet in an elegant Talbot Runhof dress.

    2. Jeffrey Katzenberg, Will Smith, and Tom Hanks had a bonding moment before the event. The trio were chummy and in good spirits as they walked down the red carpet together.

    3. Stuntman and honoree Hal Needham choked up the audience with his heartfelt speech, tearing up as he spoke of his late mother and graciously thanking, "the entire Hollywood community for allowing me to be a part of it."
