In a surprise move, the Golden Globe award for Best Drama went to "Argo," the true story of how the CIA faked a sci-fi movie as a cover to rescue hostages in Iran. Ben Affleck also won the award for Best Director, which is notable because he was overlooked for an Academy Award nomination earlier this week.

Before anyone had even seen “Zero Dark Thirty,” the film was generating controversy over how it depicts the role of torture in the manhunt to find Osama bin Laden. U.S. senators from both sides of the aisle spoke out against the movie. But the film – which was just nominated for five Academy Awards – has plenty of defenders, including one filmmaker who is no stranger to controversy himself.

2013 is looking to be packed to the gills with giant, blockbuster movies, so when the new year rolled around we picked and ranked the 25 titles we were looking forward to the most.  But we also wanted to know what you, our Yahoo! users, were excited about. So we included a poll in our original article and asked our readers to vote for their most anticipated movie of the year.

Geriatric men and young ladies prove their mettle, the undead romance the living, and the end of the world unfolds — at least four times. There aren't too many twists to 2013's big-screen trends, although there will definitely be many titles worth watching. Amidst the dramas — and comedies and end-of-days thrillers — Hollywood will be seeking a successor (or three) to the "Twilight" franchise and pushing out some long-gestating films (lessons from "John Carter" and "Battleship" learned?). Start planning for date night with these movies.

Arnold Schwarzenegger owns his own tank.  Because of course he would.

If any private citizen was going to possess their own tank, obviously it would be Arnold Schwarzenegger.  But it’s not just for joy rides and smashing cars – though he did drive me around on it, and he did roll over and flatten an old clunker with it.  It’s a tank that does have personal meaning to him, and he uses it for an altruistic purpose.

Last year at this time, there were a lot of big movies to look forward to. And while some met or exceeded expectations in a big way – “The Avengers” and “Skyfall,” for example – others didn’t quite live up to our hopes (“Prometheus,” for one).

But now we’ve got a new year and a huge field of gigantic movies ahead of us.  So we’ve sorted through all the sequels, bestselling book adaptations, post-apocalyptic adventures, and (of course) comic-book movies to pick out and rank the 25 most anticipated titles of 2013.
