Every now and then, a truth about the universe will, like a lightning bolt or a shooting star, hit the world and inspire adoration and wonder with its unspeakable awesomeness.
This ad for Volvo trucks doesn't quite reach that level of amazing, but it comes Damme close. (Sorry. Had to.)
What if we told you that not only could you win a trip to the LA premiere of "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," but you can also get on the red carpet with the film's stars — all because you took a really sweet selfie?
This isn't some Capitol mind game: we've teamed up with Lionsgate to bring one lucky fan to LA to take pictures for us on the red carpet. That's right, you'll be on the scene with Katniss Jennifer Lawrence herself. And all you have to do to enter is take an Instagram selfie, tag it with #CatchingFireSelfie, follow Yahoo Movies, and let your fan flag fly free.
For more details, check out the official rules below, and follow us on Instagram. As always: May the odds be ever in your favor!
For every person who lovingly stitches/welds/duct tapes together an elaborate, true-to-the-last-detail Halloween costume, there's someone wrapping a sheet around their shoulder and calling it a toga.
But for those of us who fall in between the two crafting extremes, making a DIY Halloween costume that a) is actually recognizable, and b) makes us look like we tried, but didn't try too hard, can be a challenge.
Enter Yahoo Movies's shortlist of six (one of the five doubles as two) easy costumes from the world of cinema!

1. SHAUN FROM "SHAUN OF THE DEAD"
"You've got red on you." ... If you're determined to get a little bloody on Halloween, there's no costume as rad as that of Simon Pegg's dumped office worker-turned-zombpocalypse hero.
The sun is setting earlier... the air feels colder and crisper... that's right, we're fully in the swing of fall! For lovers of all things spooky and scary, that can only mean one thing: it's almost Halloween! And for those horror fanatics out there, we've got a giveaway that'll make you scream — with joy, that is.
For over two decades, "Child's Play" terror toy Chucky has slashed his way into the hearts of horror fans everywhere. Now, you can get your hands on the ultimate Chucky film collection: Blu-ray copies of all six Chucky films, as well as the unrated Blu-ray of 2013's "Curse of Chucky." That's over 10 hours of nonstop Chucky... All together. Five lucky Yahoo Movies Twitter followers will each win the complete collection and the "Curse of Chucky" to boot!
Here's how to enter:
O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo? Perhaps we'll finally have an answer to this age old question when Shakespeare's iconic tragedy heads back to the big screen this weekend.
Douglas Booth and Hailee Steinfeld take on the titular duo in "Romeo and Juliet," but if you want to take home something from the film a little more lasting than their doomed romance (spoiler alert?), we've got just the thing for you — a giveaway so dramatic, even Shakespeare couldn't have dreamed it up!
One lucky Yahoo Movie Twitter follower will receive "Romeo and Juliet" branded lip gloss, breath mints (for all your balcony kisses) and a companion book for the film, which includes both Shakespeare's original play and the adapted screenplay — perfect for romancing or gifting to your own star-crossed lover. Oh, and did we mention that we're throwing in an iPad mini into the mix too? Yeah, that one you'll want to keep for yourself.
Surely it's impossible for young Hollywood stars Miles Teller ("The Spectacular Now"), Michael B. Jordan ("Fruitvale Station"), and Zac Efron (a series of musicals that took place in high school) to be anything but suave and composed. But, even young studs like these have an awkward moment or two.
And now, whether you love 'em or want to be them, you can be one of the first people ever to watch Teller, Jordan and Efron live out their awkward moments with our giveaway for their upcoming film, titled — wait for it — "That Awkward Moment."
From modeling to making movie theme music ("It's Who You Are" from "Secretariat"), AJ Michalka has done it all. While she got her roots in the entertainment industry as an actress, she and her sister Aly made their claim to fame as one half of the musical sister act 78violet (formerly Aly & AJ). Now, she's in the spotlight with her new film "Grace Unplugged," (for which she's recorded the song "All I've Ever Needed"), starring as a young woman who's chasing the double-edged sword of stardom.
With "Grace" opening this Friday, Michalka filled out our questionnaire about her pop culture roots. This is the only list you're going to read this week that includes both "The Pianist" and Aaron Carter.
1. What was the first movie you saw? "Thumbelina."
2. What movie makes you cry? "The Pianist."
3. Who is the movie character you wish you could be? Princess Buttercup from "The Princess Bride."
4. What do you eat/drink while watching a movie in the theater? Popcorn with M&M's on top and a Coke.
The iconic tune "Part of Your World" is as memorable as that little mermaid herself. But did you know that the classic Disney song was almost cut from the wildly popular 1989 animated film?
"The Little Mermaid" is back in theaters this weekend, but if you think you know the classic film through and through, think again. When you're not busy following the movie on your iPad, mull on these "Mermaid" movie factoids:
1. There are plenty of Disney canon cameos (and one Muppet).
We're not quite sure when soundtracks featuring music inspired by a film became routine (when in doubt, it's all "Twilight's" fault), but hey, if the result is anything like the just-released "Catching Fire" soundtrack tracklisting, we aren't complaining.
