We’re not talking about the run-of-the-mill, formulaic rom-com, but something original and slightly fantastical, like the trailer debut of a movie brought to us by the creator of “Love Actually” and “Notting Hill.” Join us as we take a moment to enjoy a first look at the romantic comedy “About Time,” starring Rachel McAdams, Bill Nighy and up-and-comer Domhnall Gleeson (aka Bill Weasley from the “Harry Potter” movies).

Burning Question: Will the redesign of Disney's Merida negatively affect my daughter's development? Will the sudden appearance of a thinner, sexier version of a cartoon hurt a girl's self-esteem? -- Clara K.

Short answer: Yep.

As we've discussed, Superman is getting pretty emotional in this summer's "Man of Steel." And as the latest UK television teaser spot for the film reveals, Supes gives one of those classic cinematic guttural screams of horror (see above).

Henry Cavill's facial expression appears to give it all away. Does someone for whom he cares deeply get killed?

If we let movie history be our guide, it appears to be the case:

Luke Skywalker gives that wide eyed, mouth agape look when Obi-Wan Kenobi enters the spirit world after being defeated by Darth Vader in "Star Wars IV."

Then there's Brad Pitt in "Legends of the Fall." In the 1994 film he plays the ultimate nature boy Tristan who becomes overwhelmed with shock and grief when he sees his brother (played by Henry Thomas) die on a World War I battlefield.

Mel Gibson delivers several guttural yells as William Wallace in his epic 1995 Scottish warrior flick "Braveheart." But let us remember, his passion flips to full on rage when his own wife is killed.

Knights, horses, jousting and castles are all the rage thanks to the success of the HBO series (and the resurrection of the "Lord of the Rings" franchise with "The Hobbit"), which has not surprisingly inspired Hollywood to set up its own big-screen tournament with a film adaptation of Medieval Times.

What is Medieval Times? Lo, my lords and ladies, you don't know what you're missing! It is only the most epic piece of dinner theatre you'll ever witness, with 75 actors and 20 horses (yes, real horses, not those fake ones used in wimpy normal theatre productions like "Equus") performing medieval-style games, swordfighting, jousting and other related acts of derring-do as they compete for the title of King's Champion.

Millenium EntertainmentJames Franco continues to mystify the world as Hollywood's so-unpredictable-it's-getting-predictable multitasker as he dabbles in several film-, art- and education-related projects simultaneously, leaving one wondering when the man has time to sleep (and whether this is all some sort of elaborate put-on). When he's not making bondage documentaries, annoying his neighbors, pursuing a PhD at Yale or teaching screenwriting at UCLA, he's tackling William Faulkner adaptations -- specifically, the author's beyond-ambitious and highly celebrated masterwork, "As I Lay Dying."

The Weinstein CompanyAfter a month of controversy, Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained" finally opened in Chinese cinemas on Sunday, with more of a whimper than a bang.

"Django Unchained" did good but unspectacular business when it opened in Chinese movie theaters last weekend, bringing in 3.7 million yuan (roughly $601,800) in about 6,800 screenings. That put it in fifth place for the Sunday box office tally, coming in behind "Iron Man 3," "So Young" (a Chinese coming-of-age drama), "Oblivion" and "The Croods."
