Tarantino was in London Sunday night as the British Academy of Film and Television Arts were presenting the annual BAFTA Awards. Tarantino took home the prize for Best Original Screenplay for "Django Unchained," and Christoph Waltz won Best Supporting Actor his performance in the movie. While speaking to the press after his win, Tarantino alluded to his future plans, saying, "This [rewritten history theme] begs a trilogy, it begs to have a third movie on this theme. I haven't decided about what yet, but I wouldn't be surprised."

Don't be trash-talking Jessica Chastain -- but she doesn't take offense if it's all in fun, like Jennifer Lawrence's opening monologue on "Saturday Night Live." Contrary to those dishing about diva behavior among the dynamic duo at the front of the Best Actress pack -- Lawrence is currently the frontrunner, with Chastain only millimeters behind -- they get along just fine. Tired of the media stirring up controversy where none exists, the "Zero Dark Thirty" star got on her Facebook page to put those rivalry rumors to bed with a sweet lullaby.

Of her Oscar rivals and Lawrence in particular, she wrote at around noon ET Sunday: "I think all of the actresses recognized this year have given incredible performances. But more important, they've all shown themselves to be filled with generosity and kindness. I've done two photo shoots with Jennifer Lawrence over the years and have found her to be utterly charming and a great talent. I've told her how beautiful her film work is."

It’s all systems go for Ben Affleck’s “Argo” following another victory -- Best Film at the 66th Annual British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards. That puts his humor-laced, fact-based drama about the daring rescue of six American foreign-service workers during the Iran hostage crisis in 1979-80 one baby step away from best picture honors at the Oscars.

The British Academy Awards, bestowed at the Royal Opera House in London tonight at a star-drenched ceremony hosted by Stephen Fry, also honored Affleck for best director. It was a repeat of his win last week at the DGA Awards, following his PGA sweep. Our Ben’s out of the running for best director at the Academy Awards in two weeks – because he wasn’t even nominated. Talk about an oversight! Meanwhile, “Argo” also took best editing tonight for a three-win total.

One congressman, Rep. Joe Courtney, also caught errors in the way Connecticut representatives were depicted in the film as having voted for the 13th Amendment.

"Lincoln" screenplay writer Tony Kushner has offered explanation as to why he and Spielberg decided to change the Connecticut vote in the 12-time Oscar-nominated film [via The New York Times]:

"Do you know what I love about Kathryn Bigelow?" Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain asked me on her way to the Walter Kerr Theatre to play "The Heiress" on Broadway. "Kathryn makes me feel like John Wayne in a John Ford movie. We're not used to seeing women in film in that way."

Nominated for five Oscars, including best picture, "Zero Dark Thirty" follows Chastain's CIA agent Maya as she doggedly pursues Osama bin Laden to ground following 9/11. Directed by Kathryn Bigelow, produced by Megan Ellison, and distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment Co-Chairman Amy Pascal, the political action thriller is, to quote Chastain, "a woman telling a story about a woman."

And Maya is no ordinary woman. "Kathryn directed Jessica to be fearless," said Pascal.

The nine-year-old, who’s nominated for Best Actress for her tearjerker of a performance in “Beasts of the Southern Wild,” has been wearing a different Poochie and Co. pup to every red carpet event for the past few months. She declared the bags her “signature” on “Ellen,” confessing that she has upwards of 20 of them.

Well, Yahoo! has learned exclusively that she’ll have one more come February 24, as the manufacturer will be designing and creating one custom-made for her to match her dress.

“It’s going to be jeweled from head to toe,” Diane Calvanico, who’s in sales for the company, told us. “If she’s going to be wearing pearls, obviously we’re going to make it out of pearls and maybe even give it a crown.”

Unfortunately, they haven’t started working on this masterpiece yet, as little Nazie (as she likes to be called)

Perhaps eerily, perhaps all-too obviously, Waltz discussed the violence in the latest Quentin Tarantino film in which he stars -- and for which he won a Golden Globe Award and is in the running for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar this year. (2/11 update: He has also won a BAFTA Award for his role as Dr. Schultz in "Django.") Waltz specifically pondered the film's violence as it relates to American gun culture.

Since our discussion at Comic-Con on July 14, 2012, there have been at least eight mass shootings in the U.S. and, as I write this, a gunman is on the loose, putting the greater Los Angeles area on high alert.

Waltz, a European, born in Vienna, Austria, explains how one outsider perceives this unique -- and deadly -- U.S. phenomenon. And, oh yeah, the 56-year-old actor also sheds light on his acting method and ponders Tarantino's preoccupation with revenge:
