- The total number of nominations for the 3 top grossing pictures of the year: 1 for “Marvel’s the Avengers”, 0 for “The Hunger Games,” 0 for “The Dark Knight Rises”.
- Total number of Oscar nominations for composer John Williams: 48. He's the 2nd most nominated person of all time behind Walt Disney with 59.
- Total number of nominations for director/producer Steven Spielberg: 15. “Lincoln” is his 8th nomination for producing a Best Picture nominee, which extends the record he holds with long-time collaborator Kathleen Kennedy for most Best Picture nominations.
- The total number of Academy Award nominations for the five nominees in Best Supporting Actor, all of whom have already won Oscars: 16.
- The total number of times every nominee from a certain category has already won an Oscar: 1, this year, for Best Supporting Actor.
- The oldest person ever to be nominated for Best Actress: 85-year-old Emmanuelle Riva for “Amour”.
