ABOUT THE MOVIE
The CampaignNot yet rated
When long-term congressman Cam Brady commits a major public gaffe before an upcoming election, a pair of ultra-wealthy CEOs plot to put up a rival candidate and gain influence over their North Carolina district. Their man: naive Marty Huggins, director of the local Tourism Center. At first, Marty appears to be the unlikeliest possible choice but, with the help of his new benefactors' support, a cutthroat campaign manager and his family's political connections, he soon becomes a contender who gives the charismatic Cam plenty to worry about. As Election Day closes in, the two are locked in a dead heat, with insults quickly escalating to injury until all they care about is burying each other.

WHO WILL DIG IT?
Political junkies whose electoral fevers still haven't been cooled by relentless news coverage and unending negative ads will certainly be entertained, but so will comedy fans who endorse big belly laughs.
THREE GOOD REASONS
- 1You've got Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis, two of the most naturally funny stars working today, going head-to-head.
- 2Director Jay Roach knows both comedy and politics, having made "Austin Powers" trilogy and HBO's "Recount" and "Game Change."
- 3It's written by the creators of "The Other Guys," which managed to weave some pointed commentary into the insanity. Look for them to do the same here.
BET YOU DIDN'T KNOW
Someone like Zach Galifianakis winning a congressional race in North Carolina seems absurd, but it's not too far removed from reality. The comedian's uncle, Nick Galifianakis, was actually elected from that state to the House of Representatives. He served three terms, but was defeated in the Democratic primary in 1972 by Jesse Helms. Now 83, Nick Galifianakis still practices law in Durham, NC.
